Handel Eugene Collaboration
The incredibly talented Handel Eugene approached me with a project he envisioned collaborating on for the phenomenal Tina Major9 and her joint venture with Earthgang for the track “Collide,” featured on the soundtrack of the major motion picture “Queen & Slim.”
The project’s essence was a straightforward animated lyric music video, where the lyrics would gracefully unfold with accompanying illustrations and images as the song unfolded. In our initial exploration, we sought the perfect aesthetic.
Both Handel and I agreed that a tactile approach would be most fitting, leading us to settle on a scrapbook collage style. This allowed us to seamlessly integrate footage from the live-action music video and complement it with dynamic motion graphics.
Handel, with assistance from Antoinie Eugene, skillfully handled the animation. Regrettably, the project never advanced to full production.
